The company
Sanetics is a technology company with the aim of sustainably improving medication management in hospitals and nursing homes. By leveraging state-of-the-art computer vision and IoT technologies, we reduce the administrative workload of nursing staff while striving for maximum patient safety and efficiency.
Our mission
We enhance the quality of care and safety in healthcare institutions by equipping nursing staff with innovative solutions. ogether with our customers, we are setting new standards in patient care.
Management team
Commitment to sustainability and diversity
We value a diverse team as a decisive factor for innovation and improved customer orientation. Sanetics is committed to several UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
Goal 3: Good health and well-being
Patient safety: Sanetics ensures the safe compounding and distribution of pills, reducing errors and improving patient wellbeing. This is directly linked to the goal of promoting health and well-being.
Making life easier for healthcare staff: By automating tasks and assisting with the compilation of tablets, Sanetics helps to reduce the workload of medical staff. This contributes to a healthier and happier workforce, which has an indirect impact on patient care.
Workforce optimization: Sanetics enables healthcare institutions to optimize staffing by allowing tasks to be safely delegated to less specialized personnel without compromising safety or efficiency. This helps address staff shortages while supporting employee well-being.
Goal 9: Industry, innovation and infrastructure
Innovation: Sanetics delivers a rapidly deployable, modular solution for medication logistics, demonstrating innovation in healthcare infrastructure. The necessary automation and optimization contribute to progress in healthcare systems.
Goal 17: Partnerships for the goals
Regulatory compliance: Sanetics Closed Loop Medication Management implements out-of-the-box compliance, demonstrating its commitment to regulatory compliance. This is in line with the spirit of cooperation promoted by Objective 17 and the promotion of partnerships between the public and private sectors.

Our research activities focus on identifying key challenges in the healthcare sector and developing solutions using state-of-the-art technology to improve outcomes for patients, nursing staff, and healthcare institutions.
While automation is often promoted as a promising solution, its costs frequently outweigh the benefits due to the complexity of healthcare environments. As a result, manual processes still dominate. Sanetics takes a different approach: we develop flexible, semi-autonomous processes in close collaboration with nursing staff, fully built on existing infrastructure. This enables optimal interaction between people and technology. Nursing staff can fully leverage their expertise, while innovative solutions relieve them of administrative and repetitive tasks.
Our R&D activities cover the following areas:
Our direct collaboration between care professionals and Sanetics engineers during development offers a number of advantages:
Practical solutions: Nursing staff contribute their daily knowledge and experience in dealing with medication and patients to the development process. This leads to solutions that are precisely tailored to the needs of end users.
Promoting innovation: Sanetics contributes technical expertise and knowledge of the latest technologies. By combining this expertise with the practical knowledge of care staff, innovative, technically advanced products can be created.
Ease of use: Products that are developed jointly are often more user-friendly, as they are tailored to the actual workflows and needs of care staff. This increases acceptance and practical applicability in day-to-day care.
Safety improvement: Thanks to the expertise of nursing staff, risks and safety gaps can be identified at an early stage and taken into account in product development, which increases patient safety.
Faster time to market: Close collaboration and direct feedback during the development process can shorten development times and thus enable a faster time to market for new products.
This synergistic collaboration not only promotes the development of technically mature products, but also ensures that these products can bring about real improvements in practical medical care.

Sanetics develops highly scalable and modular software on the latest development environments. This brings a number of advantages for our customers:
Increased performance and efficiency: Our software stacks are optimized to offer the best possible performance. Users benefit from faster loading times, efficient data processing and better overall performance.
Improved security: Our software stacks contain updated security features that can better defend against modern threats. For our customers, this means improved protection of their data and a lower probability of security breaches.
Future-proof: By using the latest technologies, the software ensures that it remains relevant in the future and receives support through updates and community development. Our customers do not have to worry about incompatibilities or the expiry of support.
Better user experience: Our software stacks support the latest UX/UI designs and practices, enabling a more intuitive and user-friendly interface. This can significantly increase end user satisfaction and productivity.
Interoperability: Our software stacks are designed to interact with other modern systems and APIs. This facilitates the integration of different tools and systems, which increases operational efficiency for customers.
Existing pill detection algorithms work in closed environments with predefined lighting conditions. This allows the parameters to be optimized on the basis of fixed conditions. Sanetics is confronted with open and unpredictable lighting conditions. Our algorithms work with maximum reliability under all conditions. In addition, we have developed a lighting system that can compensate for the above conditions without disturbing the user.

Our activities in mechanics and electronics cover a wide range of activities from basic research to product development and optimization.
Concept development and design: Our R&D process starts with the development of concepts and the design of mechanical and electronic components. This includes the creation of sketches, 3D models and prototypes based on theoretical calculations and design principles. CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software is used to visualize and test the designs.
Prototyping: Simulation is followed by the creation of prototypes. These enable us to test the functionality and interaction of mechanical and electronic components in the real world. We work with modern 3D printing processes to speed up prototype construction.
Electronic development: This includes the development of circuit diagrams, circuit board designs and the integration of microcontrollers. Software for these microcontrollers is also being developed and tested.
Materials research: The selection of and research into the materials used in mechanical and electronic components is of great importance. This includes the investigation of material properties, durability and performance as well as suitability for manufacturing processes.
Testing and validation: Extensive testing is required to ensure the reliability and safety of mechanical and electronic products. Sanetics works with healthcare professionals, universities and automated tests.
Quality assurance and compliance: Our products must meet quality standards and industrial or legal regulations. This concerns compliance with safety standards, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and other relevant standards.
